In my freshman year of college I became obsessed with raw denim. Raw denim is indigo dyed denim that does not have any distressing or washing prior to purchase. It starts out dark, almost black, and as you wear them more and more, they begin to crease and fade, forming a unique and personal wash.
I was immediately captivated by the idea of jeans that told a story. I bought this pair of jeans from Gap on 6/15/2009. They certainly have many stories to tell… They’ve been with me to the slopes of Tahoe, the bars in Seoul, the country-side of Dongbei China where my parents grew up, concerts, raves, countless parties, bike rides, and late night study sessions.
As much as these jeans have changed over these last 2.5 years, I think I’ve changed even more. In light of that, I figure it’s time for something new, so this is the retirement of my Gap selvedge jeans. Thank you for being an awesome pair of pants.
